Evaluation on clinical efficacy of telmisartan in treating hypertension with ambulatory blood pressure monitoring

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of telmisartan in treating primary hypertension with ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.Methods The patients with primary hypertension were given telmisartan 80mg four times daily for four weeks.Ambulatory blood pressere monitoring was done before and after treatment respectively.Results In 70 patients,19 patients got significant efficiency,45 patients got efficiency,total effective rate was 91.43%.Campared before treatment with after 4-week treatment,mean blood pressure in all day and all night,mean blood pressure in daytime,mean blood pressure in night time,the peak blood pressure in daytime,the peak blood pressure in nighttime and burden of blood pressure all decreased significantly(P0.01).Conclusion Treaing primary hypertension with telmisartan can get significant efficacy.
