Abstract

In the presence of the reductant such as ascorbic acid, the chromogenic reactions of a new organic reagent 4-(6-Methoxyl-8-quinolineazo)-resorcinol (abbr. MQAR) with Co(Ⅱ) was thoroughly studied . The conditions of the chromogenic reactions were established, the satisfactory results have been achieved in applying the methods to the determination of trace cobalt in medicines.
