The idea of salvation through appreciation of the beauty in Wang Guowei's literary criticism

By analyzing Wang Guowei's literary criticism,this paper points out that his criticism does not only include the idea of transcendence through appreciation of the beauty,but also the idea of salvation through appreciation of the beauty,whose relationship can be interpreted as follows: the former is the basis of the latter,while the latter is the result of the former.This article aims at providing a reference for reconsidering the debates like the aesthetic ideology existing in the contemporary circle of literary criticism.
