The Application of Vitapex in the Root Canal Therapy of Children's Deciduous Front Teeth

Objective The author observed the clinical effects of vitapex in the root canal therapy of children's deciduous front teeth and the absorption of root of teeth as growing permanent teeth.Methods 29 patients(36 deciduous front teeth) were treated by using vitapex as an intracanal medication in the root canal therapy.They were examined within 2 to 3 years.Results 36 cases with 34 cured teeth and 2 failed teeth in the root canal therapy.The successful rate is 94.4%.Among the cured 34 deciduous front teeth,32 deciduous front teeth can absorb the root of teeth,and 2 deciduous front teeth can not absorb the root of teeth or can absorb less than 1/3 the root canal as growing permanent teeth while the permanent teeth erupt normally.Conclusion Vitapex is effective in the root canal therapy of children's deciduous front teeth and can be absorbed with the root of teeth as growing permanent teeth while the permanent teeth erupt normally.So this kind of therapy can be popularized.
