Abstract
In order to reveal the the characteristics of soil moisture distribution and improve water use efficiency in soil under water storage pit irrigations, the TRIME-PICO IPH soil moisture measurement system is used, the contrast experiment of soil moisture content under water storage pit irrigation and the surface irrigation in apple orchards was carried out,the vertical and radial variations in soil moisture irrigation methods were analyzed. The results show that, the soil moisture of water storage pit irrigation treatment increases mainly in the 40~160 cm soil layer, with the increase in depth, soil moisture content increment increases first and then decreases, and the increment near the bottom is the largest. Moreover, near the water storage pit,the increment is larger, then decreases on both sides. While the soil moisture of surface irrigation treatment increases mainly in the 0~80 cm soil layer, soil moisture content increment decreases with the depth, and the one near the surfer is the largest. Moreover,it increases in uniform along the radial direction. The results of study serves as a scientific basis for the field popularization of water storage pit irrigations.
