Abstract
The tootal biomass,root/shoot ratio and the biomass assignment of different part of Catharanthus roseus and Catharanthus roseus cv.Albus in wild and field culture habitat were studied in this article. The results show the biomass assignment of root, stem, leaf of Catharanthus roseus are more rational than that of Catharanthus roseus cv.Albus, the reproduction allocation of Catharanthus roseus is higher,so these show the interspectific dominant position of Catharanthus roseus. The biomass assignment of the stem and the root of Catharanthus roseus and Catharanthus roseus cv.Albus are opposite to the growth height. The biomass assignment of the leaf of Catharanthus roseus and Catharanthus roseus cv.Albus are also inconsistent to the growth height.Compared to in the wild habitat, the individual of Catharanthus roseus plant in the cultivation habitat is bigger, biomass assignment is more homogeneous, the growth is more stable. These result show the trade-off between vegetative growth and reproductive growth of Catharanthus roseus is more rational and the field cultivation is more suitable to Catharanthus roseus's growth.
