Transformed Triaxial Apparatus of Strain Control and Its Application in Soil Unloading

Abstract

According to the actual unloading stress status of foundation pit excavation,normal triaxial apparatus of strain control is transformed and triaxial test method is designed for conforming to the mechanical characteristics of soil sidewise unloading during excavation process.Under drainage condition,the relationship curves between soil stress and strain,volume strain and axial strain,axial strain and horizontal strain are obtained by the triaxial test of sidewise unloading for saturated silty clay in Wuhan District.The test results show that the transformed triaxial apparatus of strain control can replace the triaxial apparatus of stress control to simulate the stress path of soil sidewise unloading.
