Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of free antipsychotics treatment for the community on improving symptoms and recovering social function of patients with schizophrenia.Methods: Free antipsychotics treatment was performed on 106 cases of schizophrenia in the community.The brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS) and social disability screening scale(SDSS) were used to assess the social function of patients with schizophrenia.Results: After treatment for 3 months,6 months,and one year,the psychiatric symptoms were alleviated and social functions all had a significant improvement(P0.01).Conclusion: Free antipsychotics treatment has significant effects upon the symptoms alleviation and social function improvement of patients with schizophrenia in the community.
