Feature of mild cognitive impairment and establishment for brief screening questionnaire

Objective To analyze feature of mild cognitive impairment(MCI) and establishment for elderly memory function questionnaire. Method Neuropsychological tests contained elderly memory function screening questionnaire, mini-mental state examination (MMSE), Wechsler memory scale-Chinese revised(WMS-RC),auditory verbal memory test (AVMT), Alzheimer disease assessment scale was examined in 16 patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI), 16 very mild cognitive impairment(VMCI) and 16 normal controls matched age, sex and education. Result Short memory?delayed memory and remote memory rather than immediate memory and total intelligence were significantly difference between groups of MCI and of VMCI?Brief elderly memory function screening questionnaire contained 10 items of memory complaints. Its total score was significant correlative with long delayed memory of AVMT. Early detection of MCI by brief elderly memory function questionnaire better sensitivity and specificity than that of WMS-RC and MMSE, respectively? Conclusion Elderly memory function questionnaire contribute to identify MCI speedily and effectively.
