Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of superoxide dismutase 2 protein(SOD2) in tongue leukoplakia. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to quantify the expression level of SOD2 in 19 normal tongue mucosa and 31 tongue leukoplakia.Statistical analysis was done with SPSS.Results For the normal tongue mucosa,SOD2 was detected in cytoplasm of stratum basal and stratum spinosum for the normal tongue mucosa.Compared with the normal tongue mucosa, the expression of SOD2 was significantly higher in tongue leukoplakia(P0.001).For different age and gender, the expression level of SOD2 was not significantly different. Conclusion The high expression of SOD2 might be related to the incidence of tongue leukoplakia.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
