A Review of Online Reverse Auction

Abstract

Online reverse auctions are increasingly being used in industrial souring activities.This phenomenon represents a novel emerging area of inquiry with significant implications for sourcing strategies.This article reviews the use of these auctions in sourcing activities and highlights four key aspects:(1) the main motives for using online reverse auction;(2) the potential risks for using online reverse auction;(3) the conditions for using online reverse auction successfully,and(4) buyer-supplier relationship in online reverse auctions.Further researches are also provided.
