Evaluation of Tissue Doppler Tei index for right ventricular function in pulmonary hypertension

Objective To determine the clinical value of Tissue Doppler Tei index in the assessment of right ventricular funtion in patients with pulmonary hypertension.Discussion the relationship between Tei index and pulmonary artery pressure,right ventricular end-diastolic diameter.Methods A total of 48 patients with PH and 24 normal subjects underwent Doppler echocardiographic examination including measurement of the Tissue Doppler Tei index.Results Tissue Doppler Tei index in Pulmonary hypertension were significantly higher than the normal control group,while the PH patients in each group showed no significant difference(P 0.05);Tissue Doppler Tei index in patients with right ventricle expansion and not with the expansion and the control group,Right ventricular Tei index was significant differences(P 0.05),and differences between the two groups was not significant.Conclusion(1)Tissue Doppler Tei index is a new simple and accurate Doppler index in assessing right ventricular funtion with PH.(2)Tissue Doppler Tei index was not Affected by the right ventricular pressure overload and right ventricular morphology.
