Interpretation of Independent Recruitment Policy in China from Perspective of Educational Equity

Abstract

Accompanied by the development of the reform of college entrance examination system,and the public voice in this issue,independent recruitment policy has emerged and continued to attract more attentions from the society.During the implementation of the policy,some problems have also occurred including injustice caused by the University Union,regional inequality in admission opportunities for candidates,unbalanced autonomy among universities of different level,degraded professional ethics of the law-maker,etc..Such being the case,the author here suggests that something be done to improve the policy of independent recruitment:to ensure the universities the autonomy of the admission from the institutional aspect,to standardize the independent recruitment rules from the implementation aspect,to grant more support to the disadvantaged areas and vulnerable groups,and to improve the supervising mechanisms(so as to correct any mistakes in the implementation of this policy).
