Research on the Contact Effect of Extracts of Different Plant Parts of Ricinus communis(Euphorbiales:Euphorbiaceae) on Grubs

Abstract

The contact effects of water extracts from different plant parts of Ricinus communis(Euphorbiales: Euphorbiaceae) on grubs were determined in the laboratory.The results showed that all the water extracts from different parts of R.communis plant had contact effect on grubs.They were,in a descending order,the water-extracts of seed,stem,leaf,seed skin,and root,respectively.Among these extracts,the optimum contact corrected mortality was observed in the extract prepared from seed extracted with 30-fold water,which came up to 60% on the seventh day after treatment.
