Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effect of Amiodarone on elderly patients with atrial fibrillation through comparing with the effect of Lanatoside C.Methods: Sixty elderly patients with atrial fibrillation admitted in the emergency ward of our hospital(from 2010.5 to 2012.6) were randomly divided into two groups according to the visiting sequence, the control group and the Amiodarone group, thirty patients in each group. The patients in Amiodarone group were first given 150 mg amiodarone injection slowly via intravenous injection, the Amiodarone injection was diluted with saline followed by 0.5 mg/min infusion. The patients in control group were first given 0.2 mg Lanatoside C injection,if ineffective after 20min,the given 0.2 mg Lanatoside C injection once again via intravenous. The observing time of all the patients was 24 h.During the observing time, the patients were processed line full ECG,blood pressure monitoring. The ventricular rate and the systolic blood pressure were recorded at 0,0.5,2,12,24 h after the drugs were given;the clinical effects and the auricular fibrillation situation were also observed. Results: There was no significant difference of the ventricular rate between two groups before therapy(P0.05).0.5 h after the drugs injection for the first time, the ventricular rate both decreased significantly in the two groups(P0.01),which was lower in the control group than in the Amiodarone group(P0.05).2 h and 12 h after the drugs injection, there was no significant difference of ventricular rate between two groups(P0.05).but at the end of 24 h after therapy for the first time, the ventricular rate of Amiodarone group was lower than that of the Lanatoside C group(P0.01).There were significant differences in both clinical efficiency(40.0% vs 73.3%) and cardioversion rate(16.7% vs 43.3) between the two therapy methods(P0.01).Compared with before therapy, the systolic blood pressure decreased slightly 0.5 h,2 h,12 h and 24 h after the drugs injection(P0.05).Conclusion: Compared with the Lanatoside C injection,Amiodarone injection may be more effective in reducing the 24 h ventricular rate of the elderly patients with atrial fibrillation, and had higher clinical effect rate and auricular fibrillation, but adverse reactions should be paid attention to during the treatment.
