Abstract
The authors first used the finite element stress analysis method to estimate the stability safety factor of a rock mass shearing plane and then made a numerical simulation study of rock slope stability by using the finite element strength reduction method based on the fact that the sliding surface and stability of rock slope are mainly determined by the shearing plane strength of rock mass. The study results show that the stability safety factor of the rock slope can be obtained in a quick and effective way by using the finite element stress analysis method in combination with the finite element strength reduction method, which can provide certain basis for evaluation of rock slope stability.
