Selection of Soilless Culture Substrate for Gerbera jamesonii Seedlings

The experiments on the soilless culture of Gerbera jamesonii were made with garden-soil culture as control. With applying the same nutrition Gerbera jamesonii were cultured in the substrates which were made out of reed powder ,sand, charcoal and cinder mixed in different proportions. The effects of 6 kinds of mixture substrate on growth of the plant were compared. The results showed that soilless culture was better than soil culture and the best substrate was reed power2+sand1+charcoall,the next was reed powder2+sand1+cinder1.
