Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment and prognosis of the syndrome of juvenile anterior retinoschisis, retinal dialysis and retinal detachment. 10 cases of 20 eyes,17~32 years old, with juvenile anterior retinoschisis, retinal dialysis, and retinal detachment were inspected with ophthalmoscope, Goldmann three-mirror lens combined with scleral indentation.Based on clinical manifestations, the eyes were treated with photocoagulation or scleral cryo-coagulation combined with buckling, and followed for 1~5 years. Results:8 cases were involved in both eyes symmetrically located at inferior-temporal.Anterior retinoschisis, retinal dialysis and retinal detachment was concurrent in 11 eyes,3 eyes were with anterior retinoschisis, retinal dialysis,1 eye was with anterior retinoschisis,3 eyes were with retinal dialysis in which the retinal detachment was concurrent in 2 eyes.13 eyes along with retinal detachment were treated with scleral cryo-coagulation combined with buckling. All were cured in the first operation.5 eyes were treated with photocoagulation to enclose the area of retinoschisis and retinal dialysis.Retinal detachment was not found during the following time, and the vision acuity was improved at various degrees. Conclusions:The juvenile anterior retinoschisis, retinal dialysis and retinal detachment have typical clinical characteristics.A better outcome will be obtained if it can be found as early as possible and treated with proper methods.
