Abstract
Objective To explore the effect and mechanism of magnet-applied on acupoints for treating benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH). Methods Sixty-four patients of BPH were divided into two groups. The IPSS, living quality score and the prostate hemodynamics were observed at pre- and post-treatment. The group which contained 34 cases were treated by magnet-applied on Guanyan and Huiyin points for 30 days as the treatment group. The group containing 30 cases were treated by vitamin-C application on the same points for 30 days as the control group. Results After the treatment, the IPSS and living quality score in the treatment group decreased 42.6% and 41.5%, compared with the control group respectively, the maximum blood speed of prostate increased 35.3% and the blood flow per minute increased 1.4 times. There was a significant difference(P0.01) between both groups. Conclusion It shows that magnet-applied on acupoints can improve the blood circulation of prostate, relieve the clinical symptoms, improve the living quality. So it has a good effect on BPH.
