Abstract

The change of rheology of chrome gel system before and after gelling was studied with chrome crosslinked gel system as the object of study. The results have shown that the apparent viscosity of crosslinked polymer solution is related to polymer content and flow velocity, that the shearing action causes the loss of viscosity and affects the strength of gel and gelling rate, that the gel strength can be expressed by storage modulus quantitatively, that the shearing action of certain strength can destroy the gel structure thoroughly, and that viscosity of gel can be recovered to a certain extent after the gel is at rest again after the shearing is removed with the gels of different viscosities being very different in viscosity recovery capacity.
