Abstract
Based on the l90 mm×1700 mm slab caster mold as investigating object, the level fluctuation in the mold of slab continuous casting was simulated by the VOF model of commercial software Fluent. The effects of casting speed, nozzle port angle and submerged depth of nozzle on the level fluctuation in the mold were studied. The results showed that with the increase of casting speed, the decrease of submerged entry nozzle port angle and submerged depth of nozzle, the wave height was enhanced, and the fluctuation near the narrow face was notable, liquid slag was not uniform. When the submerged depth changed in 140~180 mm,the level fluctuation was not notable.
