Treatment Report of 158 Cases Chronic Renal Failure by Combination of TCM and Western Medicine Therapy

Objective:To investigate the effect of combination of the western medicine treatment and the Traditional Chinese medicine Shengshuai recipe on chronic renal failure (CRF).Methods:270 cases of CRF were randomly divided in to two group,therapy group and control group.Therapy group (158 cases) was added with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Shengshuai recipe on the base of western medicine treatment,control group (102 cases) was treated with western medicine treatment only.Results:In therapy group patients,the blood uria nitrogen and creatinine were much higher as compared with the level before therapy.( P0.01,P 0.05),The regression analysis between reciprocal of creatinine and time(in 3 months)showed the slope(b) is positive number(2.6×10 -4 ).This shows the drug could delay the course of CRF,The renal function of some patients got better.In all,the rate of efficienly is 83.54%.better than the control group 65.69% ( P0.01 ).When analyze the result after 3 years,in therapy group the incidence of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is 18.52%,better than that of the control group 37.84% ( P 0.05).Conclusion:The Traditional Chinese Medicine Shengshuai recipe lomibined with western medicine therapy treats patient better than the way used western medicine only in non-dialysis patient.
