Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To study HSP70 and bcl-2 protein expressions of cervical cancer.METHODS:With immunohistochemical techniques, heat shock protein 70KD (HSP70) and bcl-2 protein immunoreactivity were measured respectively in situ for 47 cases of invasive squamous cell carcinoma (ISCC) before and after administration of a total irradiation doses ranging from 8 Gy to 12 Gy (2 Gy/f,5 f/w).RESULTS:After administration of irradiation HSP70 and bcl-2 protein expressions were significantly lower than those pre-irradiation,P0.01; strong HSP70 immunostaining and negative bcl-2 immunostaining had good therapeutic effects.1-year and 3-year disease free survivals (DFS)were associated with decreasing HSP70,P0.05 and increasing bcl-2 immunostaining,P0.05. Before administration irradiation, HSP70 immunostaining was correlated with increasing histological grade,P0.01,but bcl-2 immunostaining was inversely,P0.05.CONCLUSIONS:HSP70 may play an important role in tumor cell proliferation, differentiation, and is related to tumor cell radiosensitiveness;HSP70 and bcl-2 protein expressions may be taken as the makers of therapeutic effects.Positive HSP70 expression and negative bcl-2 expression have favorable responder to radiotherapy.
