Abstract
Analyses on heavy metals in edible parts of 152 vegetable samples from 9 species in Chengdu were conducted to study content and distribution of heavy metals,Hg,As,Pb and Cd in the vegetables. It has been indicated that Pb and Cd are main polluting elements in vegetables from Chengdu with 29.4% and 22% exceeding the permissible limits of relevant standard, respectively. Wherever, Hg and As are in safe range in those vegetables.
