Abstract
Magnesium hydroxide was prepared with sodium hydroxide as precipitant and magnesium chloride as raw material.Magnesium chloride was prepared through light calcined powder acidified by hydrochloride acid. The influence of pH value on the content of Fe in magnesium chloride was investigated;the effects of the ratio of raw materials, reaction temperature, feeding time and aging time on the purity of magnesium hydroxide were studied. And optimal operation conditions were obtained. The product was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and laser granula analyzer, etc. The results show that the content of magnesium hydroxide in the product is more than 98% and the content of calcium oxide is lower than 0.1%.The morphology of the particles is lamellar and the size of the particles is uniform.
