Abstract
In view of the shortage of the traditional calculation theory of clay subgrade earth pressure, the limit analysis method is used to calculate the active earth pressure of the clay subgrade retaining wall. The cohesion of clay is considered as a single calculation factor, then the corresponding calculation formula is derived so as to make the formula more suitable for general situations.A calculation example is given and the limit analysis method is compared with the traditional calculation method, which proves the correctness and validity of the limit analysis method. The presented method may be used in practical projects.
