Abstract
A pulse frequency modulation (PFM) with discrete frequency is designed.Unlike conventional PFM,this modulation supplies only two frequencies and automatically switches frequency when changes in load are sensed. The modulation has a simple structure, high efficiency in light load and regular distribution of spectrum.A control circuit with this modulation is implemented on a Boost converter. The circuit is designed based on UMC's 0.5 μm CMOS process, and its performance has been verified by Hspice simulation.
