Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of corneal astigmatism by corneal topography after extracapsular cataract extraction combined with intraocular lens implantation and to evaluate the improvement of corneal astigmatism after relevant suture removal. Methods Corneal topography was performed 2 months after operation.Results After the relevant suture removal,with the decreasing of astigmatism,the visual acuity was increased.Conclusion The obvious increasing of the degree of astigmatism after the operation is probably due to the sutures were too tight.Removing the relevant sutures is one of the efficient methods to reduce corneal astigmatism and to improve the visual acuity after the operation.
