Clinical Analysis of Chronic Apical Periodontitis Treatment with Single-visit Root Canal Therapy

Objective To explore the safety and effectiveness of single-visit root canal therapy for chronic apical periodontitis.Methods One hundred and twenty-six patients(152 teeth) were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,there were 63 patients(76 teeth) in each group,respectively treated by means of one-visit root canal therapy and repeated root canal therapy,pain on 1 d and 7 d after the operation and curative effect 6 months after the operation of the two groups were observed.Results One day and 7 day after the operation,pain occurrence rate in two groups had no statistically significant difference(P 0.05);6 months after the operation,the difference of the total efficiency between the two groups was not statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusion The one-visit root canal therapy has good clinical curative effect,and has advantages such as short course,saving time and money,thus is worthy of clinical application.
