Abstract
Using 30 nm,150 nm,1 μm Al2O3 powder as raw material, dense Al2O3 ceramics with different grain sizes were prepared by conventional sintering and two-step sintering, and the microstructure, density, bending strength of Al2O3 ceramic were studied. The results show that, the grain size of Al2O3 ceramics obtained by the two-step sintering is smaller than that obtained with conventional sintering. Moreover, with grain size decreasing, the grain shape changes from a plate-like into a spherical, the bending strength gradually increases.
