Effect of 3+1 holistic rehabilitation nursing mode on cognitive function and life quality in elderly patients with mild and moderate Alzheimer disease

Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the effect of 3 + 1 holistic rehabilitation nursing mode(including staging evaluation,health education,cognitive training and preventive nursing) on cognitive function and life quality in elderly patients with mild and moderate Alzheimer disease.[Methods]40 patients with mild and moderate Alzheimer disease were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group. The control group was given the routine nursing,while the intervention group received 3 + 1 holistic rehabilitation nursing mode. The score changes of the Mini-mental state examination(MMSE) and the Quality of life of Alzheimer's disease(QOL-AD) before and after nursing were observed in two groups.[Results]Before nursing,there were no significant differences in scores of MMSE and QOL-AD between two groups(P 0. 05). After nursing,MMSE score and QOL-AD score in the intervention group was(23. 88 ± 3. 36) and(30. 08 ± 3. 58) respectively,which was higher than that in the control group(21. 64 ± 3. 70) and(27. 68 ± 3. 09) significantly(P 0. 05).[Conclusion]3 + 1 holistic rehabilitation nursing mode can significantly improve cognitive function of elderly patients with mild and moderate Alzheimer disease,and enhance their quality of life.
