Reform and Innovation of Higher Education in the Knowledge-Based Economy Enviroment

The naissance of knowledge-based economy indicates the advent of a new era. Since higher education is the superstructure of the society, it is inevitable to be affected by the development of the social economy. After presenting the connotation and characteristics of knowledge-based economy, the patterns by which the overseas' higher education institutions takes on the challenges brought by the knowledge-based economy and the status quo of Chinese higher education, this article dwells on the interaction between knowledge -based economy and higher education, and then lodges puts forward the measures which Chinese higher education institutions can take so as to make reforms and innovations.
