Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of CEA mRNA in peripheral blood and the digestive neoplasms. Methods Real_time transcription_PCR assay was used to detect the expression of CEA mRNA in peripheral blood of81patients with digestive neoplasms and27healthy individuals. Results The positive rate of CEA mRNA expression in peripheral blood of patients with gastrointestinal neoplasms was58.2%(47/81),and no expression in27healthy individuals. The copy number of CEA mRNA expression was significantly enhanced in patients with metastasis, and decrease in patients after treatment(P0.05).Conclusions The reˉal_time transcription_PCR is a sensitive and specific accurate assay for detecting the expression of CEA mRNA in paˉtients with digestive neoplasms. It may be used to predict early metastasis of neoplasms, which possesses clinical significance in assessing the prognosis and scheme of therapy.
