Study on Vegetation Propagation of Thuja Occidentalis by Cutting

Abstract

In order to improve Thuja occidentalis cutting survival in Shenyang region.The experiment useThuja occidentalis by one and two years old cutting shoots with different rooting agents including IBA、NAA、 ABT treating.Then the plants were made in four nutrition substitude respectively which are river sand、peats、stove ash and garden soil with contrast to the one made in water.The results showed that,among different rooting agents,the soaking cutting with 100 mg/L ABT for about 12 hours could get the best result under the climate of east LiaoNing province,with the rooting rate of 79.1% and well developed root;The rooting rate of one-year old cuttings was 2.7 percent higher than that of softwood cutting of two-year old;the rooting rate in peats was 8.0 percent higher than that of plants in soil substrates.The seedlings were transferred in late autumn and buried with sand for living through the winter.The survial rate of transplanting seedlings callus cuttings in peat reach 89.2% in the second year,which shoot growth can reach 4.5cm.
