Abstract
Objective:To explore the development of nursing economics and identify the existing problems. Methods:Totally 1142 Chinese journal papers searched from CNKI and CBM databases from 1990 to 2009 were analyzed statistically by the method of literature metrology.Results:The amount of literature about nursing economics was increasing within 10 years.Studies focused on economic issues in clinical and community nursing, but the methods and designs of the studies were not precise.The main contents included allocation of nursing manpower, nursing demand and supply,nursing market and insurance, nursing price and cost, nursing economic analysis and evaluation.Conclusion:The study of nursing economics should be improved from design,methods and quality in order to promote nursing profession construction and the development of nursing economics research.
