Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of ultrasound-guided radio frequency abltion(RFA)in the treatment of liver carcinoma. Methods Ultrasound-guided RFA was employed to treat 76 patients with 112 tumor lesions. The changes in tumors after RFA were evaluated with histopathology color doppler ultrasonography, CT, AFP, survival rate and complications. Results After RFA necrosis was found with needle biopsy in 65 patients, retained cancer cell in 11 patients, blood stream signals obviously reduced and disappeared by color doppler ultrasonography after a week, spiral CT showed the size of tumor lesion no variability, but CT value significantly reduced about 22 Hu(P0.05),6-month survival rate was 76.3%, 1-year 67.1%, 2-year 50.0%. Complications included pain of liver region, low fever,7 right hydrothorax,1 biliary fistula,1 upper GI bleeding. Conclusions RFA provided an effective and micro-lraant treatment of liver cancer and a better future.
