Abstract

Objective To investigate the pelvic floor muscle strength of the women in Changzhou and to explore the effect of age,pregnancy and delivery on pelvic floor muscle strength.Methods From December in 2012 to May in 2013,women in a community of Changzhou city were investigated face-to-face by the questionnaire method.Vaginal pressure instrument was used to evaluate pelvic floor muscle sthength.Results There were certain relationships between pelvic floor muscle strength and age,gravidity and labour times.There were significant differences in pelvic floor muscle strength among women in different mode of delivery(F=17.209,P0.01).The scores of floor muscle strength testing in cesarean section group was better than in that vaginal delivery group.Conclusion Pelvic floor muscle strength is associated with urinary incontinence.It can be provided objective basis for pelvic floor dysfunction in clinic.Age,pregnancy and delivery can damage the pelvic floor muscle strength.Cesarean section plays a certain protective role in puerperaes.
