Abstract

Recently, the development of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, such as tight gas, tight oil, shale gas and shale oil reservoir, has gained great attention in domestic energy development field. Ultra- low reservoir permeability is a typical characteristic of these reservoirs and which need reservoir stimulation to obtain commercial gas production. Reservoir stimulation is one of the key technologies in the development of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. Based on the extensive literature study of domestic and abroad references related to simulation of reservoir stimulation in unconventional oil and gas reservoir, the broad and narrow definitions of reservoir stimulation and stimulation methods for vertical and horizontal wells are reviewed. The model and simulation methods of reservoir stimulation fractures are systematically summed and mainly include single- porosity simulation, dual porosity simulation and discrete fracture network simulation. The seepage mechanism, well model and productivity after reservoir stimulation are also analyzed. The study can provide theoretical reference and technical support for the development of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs in China.
