Abstract
Objective To study the influence of the extent of carotid artery stenosis on global cerebral blood flow(CBFV),and to discover the early diagnostic ultrasound indexes of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Methods 69 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease having received the neck vascular ultrasound test were chosen randomly as the subjects,whose internal carotid arteries and the vertebral arteries as well as the vertebral artery diameter(D),the degree of carotid artery stenosis,and the Angle-corrected time-averaged flow velocity(TAMV) of the vessel were measured with the help of carotid color duplex.CBFVs were calculated and compared among the patients with different degrees of carotid artery stenosis.Results The difference of CBFVs among the patients suffering from different degrees of carotid artery stenosis was statistically significant(F=54.81,P0.05).Compared with patients having lower than 50% of internal carotid stenosis,CBFV decreased significantly in patients having more than 70% of internal carotid stenosis and patients having 50%~70% of internal carotid stenosis(q=3.43,2.69,P0.05);There was no significant difference in CBFV between patients having more than 70% of internal carotid stenosis and patients having 50%~70% of internal carotid(q=1.27,P0.05).Conclusion CBFV decreased significantly in patients having more than 50% of internal carotid stenosis,which was confirmed by carotid color duplex.
