Abstract

Objective:To development a new method and diagnostic strip for detection of the antibodies of Treponema pallidum in the sera from syphilis patients. Methods:The engineering expressed and purified antigens of T.pallidum,tp15,tp17,tp42 and tp47,were absorbed on nitrocellulose filter. The strips carrying antigens were used for detecting antibodies in the sera of syphilis patients. The reaction between antigens and specific antibodies in the serum was shown by DAB.Results:460 cases sera of syphilis patients were detected. The positive rates were 41.3% for tp15,100% for tp17,98.7% for tp42,and 51.7% for tp47,respectively.134 cases normal sera showed negative. Conclusion:A new method for sero-logical diagnosis of syphilis was developed. The strips carrying antigens of T.pallidum are more convenient, specific and sensitive.
