Abstract

Objective To investigate the application of direct digital radiography (DR) in children's chest. Methods200 cases of the children's chest roentgenograms with digital radiography and conventional radiography were selected for analysis by 3 radiologists, and graded into Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ grades, according to the control quality standard. The rates of the film grade both DR and conventional chest radiograms were analyzed and compared statistically. Results With digital radiography system, the quality of the children's chest film was assessed gradeⅠ in 77%;With conventional radiography, the quality of the children's chest film was assessed grade Ⅰin 56.5%. The fine structure of the lungs could be revealed in 100% of chest roentgenogram with direct digital radiograph system, which was significantly higher than that acquired with the conventionalradiography(92.5%).Direct digital radiography could lower the exposure dose than the conventionalradiography. Digital radiography system is easy to operate, fast in capturing image and could provide post-processing techniques, which will facilitate the accurate diagnosis of radiography.
