The Nature and Prospect of Art Study

Art study is not equal to artistic appreciation and the instruction of artistic creation. It is also different from art criticism and art history. General art study is different from special art study or classified art study. It appears as an aesthetics school opposite to the psychology aesthetics. It attempts to distinguish from psychology aesthetics on its research objects and distinguish from thoughtful philosophy aesthetics on its research methods. Art study has not achieved its goal of precision science that it is supposed to be. It is a philosophy discipline rather than science. There are no essential differences between art study and aesthetics. It is inevitable that art study will lose itself in aesthetics or become one branch of aesthetics.
