Abstract
A calculating model for a marine V type diesel engine with 2 turbo charger (2TC) using sequential turbo charging (STC) is set up in this paper. With the model, a calculation to the general turbo charging has been performed first, and the result tends to be in agreement with the experimental one. Then, the STC system has been calculated and analyzed too. From the result, it can be seen that by using STC not only the low load performance of the diesel engine is improved, but also the running scope is enlarged when it is used as a marine main engine.
