Abstract

Sustainable and stable development of petroleum industry depends on successful findings of new fields, new areas and new types. With the discovery of volcanic oil-gas pools, volcanic rock reservoirs,a special oil-gas reservoir type, are paid more and more attention in these days.In the late of 1990's,volcanic rock reservoir geology,a rising borderline science in petroleum geology came into being, with the tasks to study macroscopic distribution, inner structures, parameters, pores of volcanic rock reservoirs and to study dynamic changes of the reservoir parameters during the development of volcanic rock oil-gas fields. The study contents are involved in reservoir geologic characteristics, physical properties, nonhomogeneity, pore types and structures, pore evolution patterns and controlling factors, reservoir geologic models, sensitivity, prediction and integrated assessments.
