Abstract
Vagueness language,as used in specific register,is not only a language form,but also a kind of communicative strategy.It is widely used in business negotiation,news report,and political discourse.Meanwhile,we can not ignore the application of vagueness language in diplomatic language.This article introduces the implication of vagueness and the characteristics of diplomatic language,illustrates the forms and pragmatic functions of vagueness in diplomatic language on the basis of adaptation theory.
