A Study on Innovation Efficiency of High-tech Industry and Its Determinants——An Analysis Based on Provincial Panel Data

Abstract

This paper adopted the DEA method to estimate the innovation efficiency of high-tech Industry in China's 27 provinces during the sample period,and came to the conclusion that the overall innovation efficiency of high-tech industry is low,with the average being 0.4684,but it presents a tendency of fluctuating increase.Among the determinants,government support and market competition have a significant negative impact on the innovation efficiency,while the innovation efficiency is positively related to firm size and financial development.
