Research on therapeutic effect of acupuncture treatment for cervical spondylosis neck pain and insomnia from heart and kidney

Objective: To explore the efficacy of acupuncture based on heart and kidney theory for cervical spondylosis neck pain with insomnia.Methods: 70 cervical spondylosis neck pain with insomnia patients were randomly assigned to an observation group(35 cases,heart kidney treatment) and a control group(35 cases,conventional acupuncture).Before and after the treatment,using Northwick Park neck pain scale(NPQ),Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI) to assess the curative effect.Results: After treatment,① Observation group is superior to the control group in comparing of NPQ score(P0.05);② The two groups were compared PSQI score in the sleep quality,sleep efficiency,daytime dysfunction,total score had significant difference(P0.01),sleep time had significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture treatment of cervical spondylosis neck pain and insomnia from the treatment of heart and kidney not only confirmed in lower patients' neck pain,but also can effectively improve patients' quality of sleep.Heart and kidney treatment method is better than the conventional method of acupuncture primarily in local location.
