Abstract
Olmesartan medoxomil,a new angiotensin Ⅱ receptor antagonist,is a pro-drug.It's anti-hypertensive effect is achieved by inhibiting the combination of angiotensin Ⅱ with receptor AT 1.It is used to treat hypertensions.In this paper,the mechanism,pharmacokinetics,and clinical evaluation of olmesartan is reviewed.
