Abstract
Objective To establish a method for the content determination of eucalyptol and α pinene in ointment. Methods The contents of eucalyptus oil and turpentine were obtained by GC with nitrogen as the carrier gas,and cyclohexanone used as an internal standard. Results The linear range of eucalyptol in eucalyptus oil was within the range of 28.093 ~ 84.279 mg·L-1(r =0.999 9),the mean recovery was 100.5% with RSD of 1.19%(n = 6) and the linear range of α pinene in turpentine was within the range of 28.157~ 84.526 mg·L-1(r = 0.999 9),the mean recovery was 99.3% with RSD of 0.64%(n =6).Conclusions The method is simple, quick and accurate, which is suitable for quality control of this preparation.
