Abstract
Objectives: To optimize the process of extracting crocins from Gardenia Fructus. Methods: HPLC,central composite design and response surface methodology were used to optimize the process of crocin-1 and crocin-2 extraction. Results: The optimal extraction parameters were as follows: ethanol concentration,51%;extraction temperature,65 ℃ and extraction time,18 min.The deviations between the experimental results and predicted values of crocin-1 and crocin-2 rates were 1.51% and 1.38%,respectively.Conclusion: The extraction technology is reliable, reasonable and highly predictive.
